Thomas Jeweler of Rochester Hills, MI celebrates their 20 Year Anniversary!
In an environment that has seen many jewelers come and go, in 2015 J. Thomas Jewelers of Rochester Hills, MI has entered into their 20th year in business. J. Thomas Jewelers is a full service retail jeweler, established by owner Tom Costigan, family owned and operated since 1995.
Thomas Jewelers is nestled in Crook’s Corner Plaza located just north of M59 off of Crooks Road boasting a fine selection of premium designer bridal brands, popular fashionable jewelry, quality watches and trendy gift ideas. This brick and motor retailer offers specialized services onsite including custom jewelry design and repair. Costigan prides himself in carrying only the finest selections of diamonds, traveling to Antwerp, Belgium to personally hand select the perfect gems for his guests.
Costigan and his staff have more than 80 years combined jeweler retail experience. In addition to Tom’s two dedicated sisters Noreen and Susan, he employees a dedicated sales and repair team, in addition to design and marketing personnel. In 2010 Tom transformed his location from a 1600 square foot showroom into a magnificent 3200 square foot display expansion.
“When we opened our doors in 1995 we were doing a lot of contract and trade work,” Costigan said. “As our small business in Rochester Hills grew, we became more specialized; now guests are contacting us more for custom jewelry design work and for their designer bridal needs”.
As a young man Tom started with engraving and basic jewelry repair; eventually attending trade school and apprenticing under industry masters. Later Tom managed a manufacturing shop that serviced over three dozen large retail jewelry chain stores and traveled domestically hosting jeweler events across the country.
Tom has won six national design awards; including one from the Michigan Retailers Association and even more recently taking first place at the International Jeweler’s Organization show (IJO) for his signature custom design, the Eternal Path™ Pendant, Passion! Tom is well known for his Eternal Path™ Pendant collection; each piece designed exclusively by J. Thomas Jewelers; created and handcrafted with love, developed in support of our guests, friends and community.
