Yes, laboratory grown diamonds are real diamonds. WD laboratory grown diamonds are created in their state-of-the-art laboratory outside of Washington, D.C., leveraging the company’s patent perfected Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) diamond growth process, resulting in the purest form of diamond – Type IIA – which qualifies each diamond as one of the rarest on earth (only 1-2% of earth grown diamonds are Type IIA). WD laboratory grown diamonds are physically, optically, and chemically identical to their mined diamond counterparts, and are brilliantly As Grown, without requiring post-growth treatment.

SCS certification equates to 100% climate neutrality, a net zero carbon footprint, 99.9% transparent U.S. origin traceability and chain of custody, 75% net zero sustainable production, legitimate ethical stewardship and the protection of workers and their communities.

Each WD Sustainability Certificate serves as a permanent record of the fully traceable journey of an SCS-007 Sustainability Rated diamond. Aligning with the unique certificate ID inscribed on each diamond's girdle, and cross-referencing core physical attributes, this third-party issued certificate also details WD's accomplishments under each of the Five Pillars of Sustainability benchmarked against the SCS-007 Sustainability Rated diamond standard.
